I miss Edith Massey so much.
I think that some people might incorrectly assume that John Waters fans like Edie ironically or that she was exploited in his films. Those assumptions are an insult to Edie’s agency. The real reason people love her is because, more than anyone else in the John Waters oeuvre, you can tell she was so sweet and genuine and having the best time ever.
